Muskegon River Watershed Assembly

Strategic Planning and Governance Training for the Muskegon River Watershed Assembly

Nonprofit Nav will partner with the Muskegon River Watershed Alliance to guide a comprehensive strategic planning and governance strengthening process. As a nonprofit dedicated to protecting and restoring the Muskegon River watershed, the Alliance is preparing to clarify long-term priorities, align board and staff leadership, and strengthen its organizational infrastructure for sustainable impact.

Through a structured, research-informed strategic planning process, Nonprofit Nav will facilitate stakeholder engagement, environmental analysis, and board-level strategy sessions to produce a clear, actionable multi-year plan. The plan will define measurable objectives, prioritize high-impact initiatives, and create a practical implementation framework designed for real-world capacity.

In tandem with strategic planning, Nonprofit Nav will deliver customized governance training for the Alliance’s board of directors. This training will focus on roles and responsibilities, fiduciary oversight, strategic governance, and effective board-staff partnership. The goal is to ensure the board is fully equipped to lead with clarity, accountability, and long-term vision.

By integrating nonprofit strategic planning with board governance training, this engagement will position the Muskegon River Watershed Alliance to advance environmental stewardship, strengthen partnerships, and protect the watershed for generations to come.
