The National Council for Mental Wellbeing, founded in 1969 and based in Washington, DC, is a national membership association. It drives policy and social change for more than 3,200 mental health and substance use treatment organizations, which together serve more than 15 million children, adults and families. Its work covers three areas: advocating for access to high-quality care, building the capacity of member organizations, and promoting mental wellbeing as a core part of health care. It also brings Mental Health First Aid to the U.S., where the program has trained more than 5 million people to recognize and respond to mental health and substance use challenges. The organization was called the National Council for Behavioral Health until 2021.

Providing Stakeholders with a "Why"
Your value proposition goes beyond what you do. It’s a concept that sets you apart from your peers and clarifies for stakeholders why they should care about your cause. At the end of the day, it’s a building block of a great strategy. It was our pleasure to train the association executives of the National Council for Mental Wellbeing’s member organizations at their gathering in Palm Springs.
