Help your team find joy and new levels of productivity
Working Genius is 80% Productivity Tool and 20% Personality Test
You’ve done DISC, Myers-Briggs, Kolbe, you name it. While all are useful, the Working Genius framework is built specifically to focus on the art of getting things done through the lens of fulfillment. Get ready to reset how your team or board envisions and executes its work to maximize the gifts of each individual.
Why We Believe in the Working Genius Framework for Nonprofits
Nonprofit work is uniquely demanding. Team members aren’t just doing a job. They are carrying a cause. That level of commitment can mask internal problems that lead to high staff turnover, low productivity, and less community engagement. When people spend most of their time doing work that exhausts rather than energizes them, even the most dedicated staff and volunteers eventually burn out, disengage, or leave. The Working Genius Assessment gives nonprofit leaders a practical, affordable tool to change a dynamic of frustration into a productive map of working style and efficiency.
Unlike traditional personality tests, Working Genius is first and foremost a productivity tool. It identifies six distinct types of work: Wonder, Invention, Discernment, Galvanizing, Enablement, and Tenacity. Two of these working types energize each person (their geniuses), two of them they can handle but that gradually drain them (competencies), and two of them consistently frustrate them. Most nonprofit teams unknowingly rely on people to spend the majority of their time in their areas of frustration, silently depleting the very people they need most.
With expert facilitation, leaders can identify where their team is strong and where critical gaps exist. Understanding these gaps helps reduce project stalemates and eroding staff morale.
What Makes Working Genius Unique
It’s Simple
Bringing Clarity to Teams
Personality assessments are often complex and riddled with nuance and formulas for interpretation. Working Genius is simple, work-based, and easy for a team to understand and apply to everything from meetings (a great first step!) to tackling large projects.
It’s Work-Based
Designed for Productivity
Nonprofit Nav will equip you not only with an assessment of each team member’s Working Genius but also with a map to identify where gaps or hurdles occur and how to address them. This assessment framework is ultimately about productivity and helping teams maximize their efforts.
It’s Built on the Lens of Joy
Joy = Work Satisfaction + Productivity
Highly capable does not equate to highly satisfied. We all find joy in different areas of work, and we work best and most successfully in the areas we find joy. This isn’t about avoiding the dirty work, but ensuring everyone has the ability to feel satisfaction and joy in the work of the organization.
