APF Final Report Cover Nonprofit Nav

American Psychological Foundation (APF)

Project #1 | Policy Review & Development

APF is a long-standing foundation, so it requested a review and update of its policies to reflect its modern practices and the needs of any nonprofit. Nonprofit Nav reviewed and condensed its policies into a concise, easy-to-follow policy manual.

Project #2 | Board Reorientation/Training

We conducted a two-part (one virtual, one in-person) board reorientation for the APF trustees that reviewed best practices for governance and board culture.

Project #3 | Strategic Visioning

This in-person season in Washington, D.C., allowed the APF Board of Trustees, staff, and our team to examine possibilities for APF’s short-term future and what operational activities and processes could be stopped to free up time to pursue a bigger vision.

The experience of working with Katie Appold through the strategic planning process was exceptional. Katie is endlessly kind, supportive, positive, and knowledgeable. My entire team and Board were impressed with her and Nonprofit Nav, and if we have the occasion to do so, we will hire them again!
